Lyrics

Verse 1: Safe in the fold of the Master, Ninety and nine were at rest; But there was lost and astraying One of the brightest and best; One of the dear lambs was missing, Lost in the desert of sin: Go then, and search in thy pity; Gather the wanderer in.
Verse 2: Hasten, the night will be falling Soon ere the search shall be done, Into the wilderness calling, Go for the wandering one, Lost on the mountains of sorrow, Fighting with doubt and with fears, No one to lead or to guide it, No one to care for its tears.
Verse 3: Go in thy pity, and fail not; Go, and return not alone; Bear back the lamb that was straying, Home to the dear Father’s throne; There will be gladness in heaven, There will be rapture untold, Angels will shout when the lost one Once more is safe in the fold.
