Lyrics
Verse 1
What is your prospect, what your desire? What expectation for the last hour? What is your hope, your witness, your faith? This is the need for comfort in death.
Verse 2
Heavenly yearning faith will promote; Faith is the substance for ev‘ry hope; It is conviction of the unseen, Bridging the broad and time-ending stream.
Verse 3
O for a faith which nothing can mar; O for a hope that reaches afar; O for a heart to trust and obey, Bounded by love, the excellent way.
