Why do some hymns in Presentation Creator have an extension?
Question: Why do extensions appear to the right of some of the song numbers in the software interface of the Hymns for Worship Revised Electronic Edition? For example, 92.15 for the hymn entitled “Others”
Answer: The Hymns for Worship Revised printed hymnal is currently in it’s 19th printing. As for the hymn entitled, “Others”, number 92.15, the number “15” refers to the “15th printing”of the Hymns for Worship Revised printed hymnal. That means that any Hymns for Worship Revised hymnal from the the 15th printing forward to the current printing (19th), has some difference in the arrangement from earlier printings from the 14th printing and backwards. The difference between hymn number 92 and 92.15 is that hymn number 92.15 has four verses and hymn number 92 has 3 verses instead.
So, if your congregation is singing from the Hymns for Worship Revised hymnal prior to the 15th printing, use hymn number 92 with the 3 verses for the exact match to the electronic hymnal. If your congregation is using a Hymns for Worship Revised printed hymnal from the 15th printing forward, then use hymn number 92.15 for the exact match to the electronic edition.
