Verse 1: Tho I have labored the best that I knew, Planting a field and tending it too; What shall I reap when I garner up there, Will it be wheat, or will it be tare?
Verse 2: If I have planted but used the wrong grain, Wasting my time by planting in vain; What shall I reap in that morning so fair, It can’t be wheat if I’ve planted tare.
Verse 3: Trusting in Jesus who knows ev’ry need, Searching the word to find the right seed, Sifting the grain with the utmost of care, Hoping for wheat instead of the tare.
Chorus: What shall I reap? O what shall I reap? I’ve labored sincerely and looking for wheat; When I awake in the morning so fair, Will it be wheat or will it be tare?
