Verse 1: As I walk on Earth below, Lord, Your will I seek to know. Father help me ev’ryday. Keep me in the straight and narrow way. The way that leads to Heav’n above, the way that’s filled with faith and love. Teach me what to do and say, keep me in the straight and narrow way. For there’s a dark and troubled side of life filled with hatred, envy, and strife; but there’s a bright and sunny side too, when we seek the Lord’s will to do. So I kneel to you and pray; help me, help me ev’ry day. Keep me in the straight and narrow way.
Verse 2: As I’m striving for the goal, only You can make me whole. Lord, please help me to obey. Keep me in the straight and narrow way. The way that keeps me from all sin, the way that few will enter in. ‘Til I see You face to face, keep me in the straight and narrow way. For there’s a dark and troubled side of life and so many stray from the light; but if we give God glory that He’s due, He may grant to us life anew.
