Writing and publishing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs

For over 30 years, people have submitted their own lyrics and/or music to R.J. Stevens for the purpose of him completing and finishing their ideas into a format as seen in this sample.

A great amount of time is involved in writing and publishing a song. There are hours, days and sometimes weeks expended in getting a song written correctly and typed set. However, charges are not based upon an hourly scale, but calculated upon the amount of work required to complete the project. There is a flat fee of $25 per musical score in a song. (Note: A score is one line, which includes the music and lyrics.)

Song ideas come to R. J. in different ways requiring different amounts of time. For example: 1) lyrics only (no music, requiring the most time); 2) lyrics, with melody only (on a cassette tape that must be transposed); 3) lyrics, with written melody (no harmony); 4) or lyrics, with written melody & harmony (in such cases, less time involved).
