OVER THREE HOURS OF TRAINING IN THIS TWO-DVD SET

This unique interactive two-DVD training tool set is menu driven giving you, the user, complete control of which section of training to cover at your own pace, moving as QUICKLY or as SLOWLY as you personally need to during any given training session. After each section is completed, the DVD reverts back to the main menu giving you the opportunity to, “Test Your Knowledge” regarding any section of training covered in the DVD set. Also, at the main menu of the DVD, you choose which section of the training you will cover next. And finally, the two-DVD set includes vocal and rhythm warm-up sections on both of the DVD’s included in the training. • The Rudiments of Music, which helps lay a positive foundation for your basic knowledge of music whether a song leader or a congregational singer;
• The Fundamentals of Rhythm, covering duple, triple, quadruple beat patterns, both simple and compound rhythms to help song leaders better lead and for congregational singers to follow the direction of their song leaders;
• The Fundamentals Of Pitch, outlining the song leaders scale, notes on the lines and spaces of the musical staff, and pitching songs with the pitch pipe.

3 . SONG LEADERS SELECTION GUIDE

This guide for song worship leaders is a "Key/Time Index" for the "Hymns for Worship" (Revised) hymn book and is sized in such a way as to be placed inside of the hymn book. All song titles, and corresponding song numbers, are sorted by "key signature". Also, by each song title, the "rhythm" of that song (whether it be simple or compound time) is indicated. The use of this guide helps to enhance the song selection process and gives variety (in pitch and rhythm) in the song worship service. R.J. Stevens believes that the song leader, when selecting songs for a worship service, should not select songs "back-to-back" in the same key &/or of the same time signature. There should be variety! Other benefits are that it helps the leader to more quickly select the songs and to keep a record of when songs are led in order to keep from selecting the same songs over and over again.

4. DICTiONARY Of WORDS

This publication is designed to help song leaders better know the definition of many of the words unfamiliar that are often used in some spiritual songs. The song leader can then pass this information along to the congregation to help them better understand what they are singing about in their worship to God, too.
